Talking to My Little Ones About Money

Talking to My Little Ones About Money

The other evening, my precious boy asked me if we were rich.

Now, I don’t believe in lying to my children. I think it’s important to speak to them with complete candor, like I would to any adult.

So I did just that—I told him the truth. I said, “My porcupine, daddy works in finańce.” To which my perfect, unspoilt son replied, “Right, but what does he do?”

I knew he couldn’t possibly understand, but I told him anyway: “Daddy buys companies then resells them quickly for more money.”

You could see the wheels turning in his simple little mind. “Mommy, that sounds like fraud. I don’t want dad to go to jail.”

I threw my head back and laughed and laughed. It’s wild what their creative minds will think up sometimes!

Anyone else struggling to raise an incredibly dull son?
