Time To Myself
Spending time alone (doing nothing at all!) makes me a better wife, mother and citizen, which is why I make sure to schedule at least six hours of decadent solitude every day.
That might sound like a lot, but I’ve been reading statistics on productivity. They say that in order to maintain a healthy life/work balance, you have to maintain a 50/50 ratio: for every hour working, take one hour off. Well, motherhood is a job, and when my little ones are sleeping at night they are technically under my care. Which means I’m actually not taking enough time off, if you think about it.
Some ways I slip “me time” into my hectic day: a mimosa in the shower, a G&T in my afternoon bath, a couple bloodies in the sauna, and a happy hour with my best friend — me!
